Parivartan – The Change
Transforming Khedli Jeeta: A Story of Empowerment and Change
Introduction
In 2017–18, Parivartan – The Change focused on transforming the adopted village of Khedli Jeeta in Palwal, Haryana.
The aim was to demonstrate how empowerment, financial inclusion, environmental responsibility, and community collaboration can create
sustainable and dignified change. This year was a milestone in laying strong foundations for long-term development.
Detailed Initiatives
Vocational Training & Empowerment
Tailoring training camps were organized for women and girls, giving them employable skills.
Dozens of women began earning small incomes through tailoring. Distribution of sewing machines helped them establish home-based enterprises.
One inspiring story was of a young widow who, after training, started stitching clothes for nearby villages, providing education for her children
from her earnings.

Financial Inclusion
Through Jan Dhan Yojna, Parivartan ensured that every household in Khedli Jeeta had access to formal banking.
This not only enabled villagers to save securely but also opened doors for government benefits and small loans. For many women,
holding their first bank account was a step towards financial independence and decision-making power at home.

Greening the Village
Every household was encouraged to plant and care for a tree. Over 200 trees were planted during the year.
Villagers shared stories of nurturing their saplings, symbolizing their own growth. This not only improved the local environment
but also fostered a sense of shared responsibility and pride in building a sustainable future.
