International Women’s Day – Aarohan NGO, Malviya Nagar, Delhi

It is always an honour to collaborate with Aarohan NGO under the inspiring leadership of Madam Rani Patel, a true pillar of society who has dedicated her life to empowering communities.

On International Women’s Day, a special workshop was conducted with Aarohan students, focusing on two critical yet often neglected themes:

  • 🌸 Menstrual Hygiene Management
  • 💖 Self-Love and Emotional Wellbeing

The session was unique as it included both women and boys, aligning with Madam Patel’s vision that sensitising men and boys is essential for creating a supportive environment where women can thrive.

During the event, I shared my thoughts on how women, for centuries, have prioritised others while neglecting themselves. The message was clear:
“You must love yourself first—only then can you truly make others happy.”

The honour and recognition bestowed upon me on this occasion left me humbled, but the real reward was the opportunity to spark meaningful conversations about dignity, equality, and self-worth.

2019-2020

Our Journey 2019–2020

The year 2019–2020 was dedicated to strengthening the efforts of 4Dogsake, which required significant manpower and resources. With over 600 workers engaged round the clock, the organisation continued to face challenges of limited funds and workforce.

During this period, adoption drives at Puppychino and Indie Love centres became a major highlight, encouraging people to adopt stray dogs instead of purchasing high-end breeds. While overall receptivity among the masses remained modest, true dog lovers stepped forward to support the cause and give many strays a loving home.

Responding to Community Needs

Parivartan began its journey with a Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Drive, introducing the concept of the menstrual cup—a sustainable alternative that helps ease the burden of solid waste management caused by used sanitary napkins. Sensitisation sessions were organised to spread awareness and break taboos around menstrual health.

By the end of 2019, the world was struck by the Covid-19 pandemic, and India too came under its shadow. Following the Government of India’s directives, we limited public interactions. However, as the nationwide lockdown began in late March, our real welfare work took root.

Recognising the hardships faced by daily wage earners, Parivartan launched an extensive food and ration distribution drive. Freshly cooked meals were served twice a day, ensuring that no one went to bed hungry. At the same time, with markets and restaurants closed, stray animals too suffered from lack of food. Our team responded by preparing and distributing meals twice daily for them as well.

Our guiding motto became:
“Let Not a Soul Sleep Hungry.”

The initiative received overwhelming support from people who donated generously to sustain the mission. In recognition of this humanitarian work, Parivartan was immediately granted a movement pass during lockdown. Out of respect for the dignity of those we served, we made a conscious decision not to display pictures of the sufferers.

2018-19

Our Welfare Initiatives

At 4Dogsake India, our welfare work has gained momentum through workshops and adoption drives. Around our head office alone, nearly 100 community dogs have been spayed and fully vaccinated against Rabies, ensuring healthier and safer lives. Many others received timely medical care at local veterinary clinics.

We are proud to collaborate with Max Vets and contribute to Maneka Gandhi’s SPCA initiatives, amplifying our collective impact in animal welfare.

Livelihood Initiatives

Our team visited Coimbatore to procure machines for the sanitary pad making unit at Khedli Jeeta. Although the delivery was placed on an eight-month waiting period with an assurance for August 2019, we made sure not to lose momentum. In the meantime, the existing small pad-making unit in Khedli Jeeta was upgraded, and its products were successfully introduced to the local market.

Alongside this, the mat knitting unit has also been performing well, steadily contributing to local livelihood opportunities.

Workshop at Bal Kalyan Samiti, Palwal

A workshop was organised at Bal Kalyan Samiti, Palwal, featuring various competitions for government school students. The event received encouraging participation and enthusiasm from the children.

The occasion was graced by ADC Ms. Anju Choudhry, who lauded the efforts of Parivartan in creating meaningful opportunities for young learners and fostering their overall development.

Transforming Khedli Jeeta: A Story of Empowerment and Change

At Parivartan – The Change, we believe in creating lasting impact through sustainable development and empowerment. Our work in the adopted village of Khedli Jeeta in Palwal Block, Haryana, stands as a testament to the transformative power of community-driven initiatives.

Vocational Training & Empowerment:
Recognizing the potential of self-employment, we organized tailoring training camps for women and girls, empowering them with the skills and resources to start their own businesses. Through the distribution of sewing machines, we gave them the tools to shape their futures, fostering economic independence and confidence.

Financial Inclusion:
In partnership with the Jan Dhan Yojna, we facilitated bank account openings for every villager, ensuring they could access formal financial services and benefit from government schemes. This small yet powerful step has helped integrate the community into the larger economic system.

Greening the Village:
Our tree plantation drive saw every household taking responsibility for planting and caring for a tree. This initiative not only enhanced the environment but also instilled a deep sense of ownership and pride in the villagers, fostering a sustainable future.

Recognition and Celebration:
The efforts of Parivartan and the dedication of the community caught the attention of the Ministry of Rural Development, and Khedli Jeeta was awarded for ‘Best Practices’. This recognition is a reflection of the collective hard work, dedication, and spirit of the villagers who embraced change with open arms.

Khedli Jeeta, once a village struggling for growth, now stands as a shining example of what can be achieved through empowerment, education, and community collaboration. The villagers have warmly embraced the positive changes, calling Parivartan the driving force behind a brighter future.

A short film based on the work of the organisation, has also been made.
