Annual Report 2021–2022

Parivartan – The Change

Expanding Project Nidaan and Pre-Puberty Awareness

Introduction

The year 2021–22 was dedicated to expanding menstrual health initiatives while
also addressing the needs of young girls entering adolescence. Project Nidaan grew stronger through
collaborations with Delhi Police, while the Pre-Puberty Awareness Drive prepared thousands of schoolgirls
for healthy transitions. For Parivartan, this year was about reaching diverse groups — women in uniform,
young girls, students, and even incarcerated women — to ensure dignity and health for all.

Detailed Initiatives

Project Nidaan – Delhi Police

Workshops were organized with the Delhi Police 7th Battalion, Malviya Nagar,
introducing reusable menstrual cups and breaking taboos. Women participants engaged in open discussions,
gaining confidence in managing their health with dignity. Feedback highlighted relief from recurring expenses
and improved comfort during duty hours.

Pre-Puberty Awareness Drive

In collaboration with Sirona Hygiene Foundation, Parivartan reached over 2,000 schoolgirls
across government schools. Interactive sessions prepared them for adolescence with knowledge on menstrual
health, hygiene practices, and self-confidence. Teachers reported improved classroom participation from girls
who felt supported and informed.

Workshops with Aarohan NGO

On International Women’s Day, Parivartan collaborated with Aarohan NGO to conduct sessions
on menstrual hygiene and emotional well-being. The unique inclusion of both girls and boys helped break gendered
taboos and foster supportive communities. Stories of boys supporting their sisters emerged as a sign of
transformative impact.

Outreach to Prisons and Shelters

Workshops on preventive health and menstrual hygiene were conducted at Nirmal Chhaya,
Tihar Jail, and Children’s Home for Girls. These sessions addressed overlooked populations, ensuring that
dignity and health are extended to women behind bars and vulnerable children. Many participants expressed
gratitude for being treated with empathy and respect.
