Parivartan – The Change
Strengthening Preventive Health and Adolescent Empowerment
Introduction
The year 2023–24 reflected Parivartan’s holistic approach to health and empowerment.
From organizing cancer screening camps to training Anganwadi workers and launching a pioneering boys’ self-advocacy program,
the year was marked by inclusivity, prevention, and care. By addressing both physical and emotional health,
Parivartan continued its mission of empowering individuals and building healthier communities.
Detailed Initiatives
Free Cancer Screening Camp – Karnal
On 25 August 2023, Parivartan in collaboration with BLK-MAX Super Specialty Hospital and Golden Moments
organized a free cancer screening camp in Karnal. Hundreds of individuals were screened for breast, cervical, and oral cancers.
The camp also included general health check-ups for blood pressure, sugar, and bone health. Many participants expressed gratitude
for the opportunity to access preventive healthcare free of cost.

Capacity Building Workshop for Anganwadi Workers – Delhi
In December 2023, Parivartan conducted intensive workshops for Anganwadi workers in Delhi.
The training covered maternal and child health, menstrual hygiene, identifying early warning signs, and health communication.
Frontline workers felt better equipped to guide their communities and act as advocates for women and children’s health.

Self-Advocacy Workshops for Teenage Boys – Noida & Greater Noida
Between December 2023 and February 2024, Parivartan reached over 5,000 boys in 65 government schools
across Noida and Greater Noida through its Self-Advocacy Workshop program. The initiative addressed adolescent health,
emotional changes, peer pressure, and self-confidence. Teachers and parents reported that the program filled a long-ignored
gap by addressing the needs of boys alongside girls.

Closing Reflections
2023–24 was a year of inclusivity and prevention. By reaching underserved groups like
teenage boys and empowering frontline health workers, Parivartan ensured that health and dignity were addressed
holistically. The cancer screening camp further emphasized that healthcare is a right, not a privilege. This year
proved that investing in preventive care and adolescent empowerment builds stronger, healthier communities.
