Strengthening Animal Welfare and Responding to the Pandemic<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The year 2019\u201320 was both challenging and transformative for Parivartan \u2013 The Change.
We strengthened the animal welfare movement 4Dogsake India through adoption drives and awareness campaigns,
while also expanding our work in menstrual hygiene management. However, the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic
at the end of the year reshaped our focus, compelling us to step in with urgent relief for daily wage earners
and stray animals. It was a year that tested our resilience, empathy, and commitment to the motto:
\u201cLet Not a Soul Sleep Hungry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To promote compassion and responsible pet ownership, adoption drives were held at
Puppychino and Indie Love centres. The events encouraged families to adopt strays instead of buying pedigree breeds.
Though adoption rates were modest, true animal lovers stepped forward. Several abandoned puppies and injured dogs
found safe and loving homes, a testament to changing attitudes in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parivartan initiated a Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Drive, introducing the concept of
menstrual cups as a sustainable alternative to sanitary pads. This effort addressed not only women\u2019s health
but also environmental concerns by reducing waste. Awareness sessions challenged taboos and encouraged open
dialogue about menstrual health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the nationwide lockdown began in March 2020, thousands of daily wage earners
faced hunger and uncertainty. Parivartan launched a food and ration distribution campaign, serving freshly cooked
meals twice daily. Volunteers ensured dignity was maintained, refraining from publishing photos of the beneficiaries.
This initiative helped hundreds of families survive one of the most difficult phases in recent history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lockdown also severely affected stray animals who depended on restaurants and
markets for food. Parivartan organized feeding drives, preparing meals and distributing them twice daily.
Over 600 workers were engaged around the clock to ensure no stray was left hungry. The compassion extended to
animals during this crisis resonated deeply with our core values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2019\u201320 was a year of compassion and resilience. While the pandemic brought immense challenges,
it also revealed the strength of collective action. From feeding strays and supporting women\u2019s health to
ensuring daily wage earners had food, Parivartan stood true to its mission of service. The recognition and
support received reinforced our belief that even in times of crisis, humanity can shine its brightest when we
choose empathy over fear and action over apathy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
